It emphasizes the importance of understanding and meeting customer needs, presenting oneself as a guide rather than the hero, and developing a concise and impactful message.

Overview of Workbook

1

What is Relationship Marketing?

What if you had customers that wouldn’t dream of leaving you? And what if those customers told everyone how great you were? You’d have a whole tribe of Raving Fans. This book teaches you how to get those Raving Fans through a proactive process called “Relationship Marketing.”

2

What Do You Really Do?

What is that concise statement that describes your company and what you do in a way that will make the listener ask for more information? In other words, what is your Elevator Pitch? It’s important to have one that focuses on your primary product or service. It needs to communicate what you provide to your dream client to make their life better.

3

How Do Others See Your Company?

When prospects, referrals or current customers talk about your company, what are they saying? What will they see when the customer looks at your print or online material? Is your message all about you, or is it about the needs and desires your prospect, referral or customer has?

4

Attitude is Everything

When I am out at a mall, or shopping online, I can’t help but watch how the “salesperson” or store owner treats me. Are they interested in my needs or are they only trying to get me to “buy” something, whether I need it or not? Your customers can tell when you are so hungry to sell that your whole focus is closing the sale, and not helping them achieve their goal.”

5

Be the Guide Not the Hero

Your customer needs clarity. One of my coaches always said, “A confused mind never buys.” I found that to be true. It’s easy to get excited about your product or service. And rightly so. You SHOULD be excited about what you offer. But you can overwhelm your customer. Too much information. Too many choices. Too much of everything
